Creativity Needed

We have 5 weddings in the span of 1 month that we need to buy gifts for. That's a lot right now. I'm tempted to just buy all of them gift cards, but that doesn't save much money. How can I make this work? Are there any suggestions that you have? I understand that you can give a wedding gift any time within the following year of their wedding day, but I like to be punctual. And the weddings don't stop after this month....

Oh goodness gracious five wedding this month? We had five this summer and thought that was a lot. My idea isn't creative and you probably already do it. When people are registered at bed bath and beyond I go ahead and bring in loads of coupons and use the 20% off coupons for every single item. Better yet if I have a "$5 off an item of $15 or more" I use that item on an item that is precisely $15 since that is 33% instead of 20%. (Sometimes buying it in a separate transaction.) I pick a theme for each couple, for example cooking supplies and will get everything in that theme and then wrap it up creatively. I like to pretend my wrapped presents look like art when I am done but they aren't nearly as good as my mothers.

Also, when I get the wedding invitation I go straight to the store so I have lots of options and not everything is taken on the registry. If it is a good friend I don't pay to ship it but drop it off earlier when we do a double date or meet up since I rather spend the money I would have spent on shipping on getting them more stuff. If I'm not going to see the friend before the wedding then I buy my gifts at Bed Bath and Beyond in the store so I can use coupons but then have them mail it straight to their house. (If you order it online you can't use coupons.)

Obviously I enjoy shopping for gifts a little too much...but regarding your comment we are certainly hoping! If not I guess we will just have to keep trying ;). I will definitely post on it when/if the time comes! I also heard a rumor from Heather that you might be moving back home? I will keep jobs in my prayers and hope you are both doing well!
