Crafty updates
I'm so proud of us for making our own wall art. We can't sew in this house but we can staple! I am slowly but surely adding more colors to our bedroom to brighten things up. The Crate and Barrel outlet in Old Town offers tons of fabrics at discounted prices so I grabbed a few yards of this blue one, bought some wood frames from Michaels, and stapled the fabric onto the frames. There is a good deal of left over fabric that I just might kindly beg my BFF to make into small pillows for me. (If I don't wear her out before that - see post below.) I bought this peacock blue throw from CB with some Christmas money and things are already looking more tropical.

Last week of 2010
We spent the last week of 2010 at Sunset Beach with Michael's extended family. It was great to be with the cousins (who I love and adore so much, it's like they're my blood relatives.) The weather warmed up to the 60's for us so we got to spend a lot of time outside. New Year's Eve we ate delicious seafood and saw fireworks down in Myrtle Beach.

Love you Thores, Jones and Logans!!

First stop on the Party Bus
The National Christmas Tree
The old fashion remote control trains were so cute! They had tons of displays set up all around the Christmas tree and little trains whirling around the tracks.
We watched Marine One practice their landings and lift-offs on the White House front lawn. We got a little excited the first time they did it but then it came back nearly five times during our short visit. It made for a noisy and windy Christmas Tree gazing. You can see it sitting on the lawn in this pic:

There were so many tourists it was hard to get around to seeing all 50 state trees.
Some of the federal buildings actually decorate for Christmas and are really pretty!

Family Party Bus
On December 23rd, my parents took us all out for a night in DC....on a party bus. It turned out to be really fun. We had some neighbors, family friends, and relatives join us to help fill in the seating. I'd love to do it again sometime! It was nice to go into the city and not worry about parking.
